Project Manager, Business Initiatives
Overview
Dana-Farber’s International and Domestic Initiatives, managed by the Business Initiatives and Alliances department, expands access to Dana-Farber’s oncology expertise by developing clinical and non-clinical partnerships regionally, domestically and around the world. The Domestic and International teams collaborate with potential partners to develop relationship models, including associated programs and services, and manage the day-to-day operations of established partnerships and collaborations.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of three or more active international and domestic relationships with hospitals, physician practices and healthcare systems, while also supporting the development of new partnerships. The role supports the execution of programmatic initiatives and projects outlined in definitive agreements, including developing new programs and services, leading implementation work, facilitating meetings with stakeholders, and calling on expertise within the Institute. The Project Manager is also responsible for supporting the growth and expansion of these relationships to help realize the full clinical and business potential of each relationship.
The role will primarily report to the Director of International Strategic Initiatives with a dotted reporting line into the Sr. Director of Domestic Business Initiatives and Alliances. This individual will work closely with directors, managers and clinicians across DFCI to implement collaboration services and ensure positive and cooperative business interactions with key stakeholders and partners. This role will take on additional responsibilities and support existing relationships as needed.
This is a full time partially remote position with 2-3 days required on site. Employees must reside in MA, NH or RI.

Requirements
Relationship Development
- Develop materials based on primary and secondary research to inform strategic decision-making; prepare documents to summarize recommendations, options and pros/cons of opportunities
- Conduct market analysis and analyze market data in support of Dana-Farber’s Domestic and International growth initiatives
- Lead development of service offerings that can be replicated across relationships and partnerships
- Coordinate support services to further develop relationships, including developing and implementing strategy for ongoing roll-out of new initiatives and programs to partner sites in collaboration with DFCI physician leaders and department contacts; work with each site to explore opportunities for further program enhancement
Relationship Management
- Support relationships with new and existing partners, including the development of productive and positive relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations
- Manage and coordinate all activities of approximately 3-5 active collaborations, including providing input into project scopes and deliverables
- Schedule and facilitate project-related workgroups, including developing timelines, recording action items and tracking project status
- Prepare project summary reports for internal and external use
- Develop meeting materials (e.g., agendas, presentations, etc.) and other written materials for remote and onsite meetings
- Support communication with executive leaders across the Institute to ensure relevant updates and necessary information are disseminated in support of leadership’s decision-making activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MHA) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years work in project management within healthcare, operations, or consulting.
- Must be willing to travel (5-10%)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience developing, executing and managing complex programs with both internal and external stakeholders within matrixed organizations, as well as multi-institutional relationships and complexities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must possess the ability to converse effectively and prepare written proposals, analyses and other documents in a manner readily understood by and crafted for the target audience
- Experience in data and market analysis
- Self-motivated and organized with time management skills necessary to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks; deals well with uncertainty and ambiguity; flexible with changes in prioritization
- Strong client orientation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work closely and effectively as a member of a team and with all levels of the organization
- Ability to analyze contracts and business intelligence data
