UPMC China International Physician

The international physician is a leader within the hospital to ensure the mission, and vision of UPMC International is realized through (1) high quality, comprehensive clinical care to any and all patients who need care and (2) leadership to ensure the hospital is meeting all quality, experience, operational and financial goals.

Located in Chengdu’s Tianfu New District, the 3A, Chengdu Wanda UPMC International Hospital will be the first in China to be modeled after and managed by a leading U.S. academic medical center. It will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care including six Centers of Excellence (COE). By introducing UPMC's advanced operations, clinical technology, and medical service system, the hospital will offer world-class, international care to patients without the need to travel far from home. The medical staff will be comprised of internationally trained physicians, as well as a Chinese expert team, providing specialized, one-stop services for patients.

This 500-bed hospital will provide comprehensive primary care and family medicine services from neonate to geriatric, including a spacious, dedicated Health Check Up Center for preventative screening, health coaching, and lifestyle/wellness management. The hospital will also provide access to UPMC international expert clinicians, providing high acuity, innovative, and comprehensive medical and surgical services for the Heart and Vascular Institute, Oncology, Neuroscience, GI, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and Women’s Health. Chengdu Wanda UPMC International Hospital will create the new standard of patient-centered care, access, and clinical excellence as well as a world-class, innovative, training center for cutting-edge training for clinicians and administrators.
